Wilma N. Rivera, 91 of Dunkirk, New York, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 8, 2026. She was born on July 2, 1934, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, and was the daughter of the late Flor Cosme and Justiniana Rivera.
Wilma was a devout Catholic who enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Irene Rivera of Dunkirk; Milagros (Luis) Alvarez of Punta Gorda, Florida; Emmanuella Rivera of Jamestown, New York; Carmen (Harry) Echevarria of Dunkirk; and Mildred Szach of Dunkirk; as well as her son Raul Rivera Jr. of Dunkirk. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Raul F. Rivera; her son, Hector Rivera; daughters Elizabeth Vega and Magdalena Fred; twin infants, Jose and Maria Rivera; and two grandsons, Christopher Haase and Noah Elder.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church; 328 Washington Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
