Terry M. Bigler

Terry M. Bigler, 79, passed away following an extended illness on May 6, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk. Born on December 27, 1946. He was the son of Charlie and Helen Bigler and was raised in Silver Creek, New York.

He briefly attended Arizona State University, then returned to western New York to complete his studies in medical tech, in the fields of cytology and histology. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1972, and completed his service at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital in Washington. He returned west, where he worked in the med tech field in a small hospital in Espanola, New Mexico.

His rambling spirit ultimately moved him to the open road as interstate truck driver, where he completed his working life.

Those who knew Terry, remember him as an iconoclast, irreverence, and witty. An excellent guitar player, he wrote music, poetry, and performed in a unique style.

So Terry, pick your favorite motorcycle, fill it with memories, and thoughts of your friends, and head off on the final eternal highway.

In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his sister Mary Kay.

Terry's family would like to thank the staff at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care of Terry.
