Sandra J. Stoyle, 76, of Dunkirk went home to be with the angels Monday morning (March 13, 2023) at Buffalo General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 3, 1946 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Olga (Ermakovitz) Korbas.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Sandra graduated from Dunkirk High School, class of 1964. She also was a graduate of the nursing program at Jamestown Community College. Sandra had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital for a number of years until an injury ended her nursing career.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and the American Legion Post 62. Sandra especially enjoyed her outings, including monthly luncheons with her friends or just having a coffee with the girls. The family will forever remember Rose Taddio for her love and friendship.
Survivors include her husband, James J. “Jidge” Stoyle, whom she married Sept. 14, 1968; one son, Shawn Stoyle åç Harriman, UT; one daughter, Stacy (Anthony) Bautista of Dunkirk; six grandchildren, Shaemus Stoyle, Shaeliegh Stoyle, Sinead Stoyle, Sophia Bautista, Gabby Bautista, and Bella Stoyle; one brother, Ronald Korbas of South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Patrick (Kathy) Stoyle and Donald (Audrey) Stoyle, both of Dunkirk; two sisters-in- law, Ann Marie Maternowski of Kentucky and Donna Stoyle of Dunkirk; three nieces, Trica (Mike) Green, Kelly (Jake) Porpiglia, and Holly Stoyle; and two nephews, Tim (Sarah) Stoyle and Cody Stoyle.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott J. Stoyle, who died Nov. 5, 2020; in-laws, Donald and Bridget (O’Connell) Stoyle; and two brothers-in-law, Tim Stoyle and Tom Maternowski.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
