Roxanne M. Tenamore, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 31, 2026.

Born on December 27, 1954, Roxanne lived a life centered on faith, family, compassion, and generosity. She dedicated many years of her career as a cook at Chautauqua Opportunities, where she took great pride in preparing meals and caring for others through her work.

Roxanne found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking, visiting the casino, playing cards, and spending time with lifelong friends. She found comfort in praying to St. Jude. Her greatest joy, however, was bringing her family together. She hosted Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings, filling her home with food, laughter, card games and treasured memories.

Roxanne will be remembered for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and the joy she found in making others laugh. She had a kind and empathetic heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her generosity, warmth, and unconditional love left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her brother, Russell Tenamore, Jr., and sister-in-law, Kathy Tenamore; her devoted nieces and caregivers, Haley Tenamore and Lindsey Marvin; and her nephews, John Tenamore, Richard Tenamore, Vinny Tenamore, Robert Tenamore and Shawn Meegan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Nina Tenamore, and her beloved sister, Rosalind Meegan.

Though Roxanne’s presence will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Following Roxanne‘s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. The family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate and honor her life. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude children’s Research Hospital in her memory; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
