Robert V. McClenathan, 64, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2022, at Sarasota Hospice House.
Robert (Bob) was born on Dec. 10, 1957, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Robert E. and Janet (Bentley) McClenathan. He was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and University of Kentucky. Bob worked as a sales engineer in the aerospace and defense industries for the past forty years.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Brenda, until her passing in 2021. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and caring for their dogs and other pets.
Bob was a great sports enthusiast, both as a participant and a spectator. He spent much of his leisure time playing golf with his many longtime friends in Arizona, Western New York, and Florida.
He is survived by his brother, William (Cindy) McClenathan of Dickson, Tenn.; his niece, Erin (Lee Troupe) McClenathan of Macon, Ga.; and his nephew, Kevin of Nashville, Tenn. He is also survived by his step daughters: Jennifer (Robert) Bolvin, Ammie (Quinn) Gormley, and Theresa (Ryan) Conner; and step grandchildren: Tanner, Megan, Lauren, Tatem, Riley, Aidan, Cormac, and Killian.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his wife, Brenda.
Bob will be remembered for his love of family and pets, his lasting friendships, and his ability to have a good time.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Service will be at noon followed by a luncheon at Shorewood Country Club. The Rev. Molly T. Golando will officiate.
