Robert J. Debeck

Robert J. Debeck, 85, of Dunkirk, passed away Friday evening, September 25, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Dunkirk on January 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Belle (Sosinksi) Debeck.

A lifelong resident of Dunkirk, Robert graduated from Dunkirk High School and went on to honorably serve in the United States Army from 1963-1965. Robert worked at True Temper for many years and ultimately retired from the Carriage House.

Robert was a longtime fan of the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox and enjoyed following and watching sports. He especially enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including sitting down with his favorite snacks while watching a game.

He was a member of the Dunkirk Falcons Club (4th Ward).

Robert's family would like to extend a special thank you to Robert's nephew Al Keppel and his wife Linda, for their exceptional care of Robert over the years. They would also like to thank the staff at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center, especially Mackenzie.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his siblings Blanche Cudzilo, Irene Mourer, Rita Keppel, Rith Apple, Paul "Dobie" Debeck, David "Jake" Debeck, and Edward "Gentle Giant" Debeck.
