Orlando "Toby" Vazquez Jr., 49, of Dunkirk passed away Friday morning Sept. 13, 2024 at Brooks Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Dunkirk on August 20, 1975, son of Orlando Vazquez Sr. and Elsa (Echevarria) Vazquez.
Toby attended Dunkirk High School and ultimately went on to work at various places over the years. Most notably serving as a custodian for Chautauqua Opportunities Inc.- Connections North, and previously at Wells Foods Corporation.
He was known for his kindness and humor, often bringing laughter to those around him. His love for life was evident in his hobbies and interests; he enjoyed listening to freestyle music, watching boxing, and attending movies.
A proud Christian, Toby found strength and purpose in his faith, knowing Jesus Christ to be his Savior.
Toby’s most cherished moments were spent with his family, and he was a devoted father and family member who would go to great lengths for those he loved, always making sure that they felt supported and cherished.
Survivors include his significant other of 17 years, Juli Dickerson; children Kyannah, Orlando "Isaiah", Yessenia, Nathan, and Jae'lyn Vazquez; Parents Orlando Vazquez Sr. and Elsa (Echevarria) Vazquez, and a sister Annette (Greg) Morgan. Toby is also survived by many close friends and relatives.
Preceding Toby are his grandparents Domingo and Margarita Echevarria and Esperanza Martinez.
Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours Today, Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 from 10-12 p.m. with prayer services beginning at 11:30 a.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
