Marie Salisbury

Marie (Pietrkiewicz) Salisbury, 55, of Fredonia, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with her loving family by her side. Born in Dunkirk on November 20, 1969, she was the wife of Paul Salisbury and daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Bucholtz) Pietrkiewicz.

A lifelong resident of the Dunkirk and Fredonia area, Marie graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1987. She went on to earn an Associate's degree from Jamestown Business College. She dedicated her career to serving as the secretary for J & E Medical.

Marie was a fantastic wife, mother, and friend whose genuine care for others shone brightly in all her interactions. She was a deeply family-oriented individual, always willing to go out of her way to help those in need. Her devotion to her loved ones was matched only by her pride in her children and their accomplishments, which she cherished deeply.

In her leisure time, Marie found joy in various activities. She loved shopping, going for walks, reading, and exploring new places. Marie looked forward to Black Friday shopping each year, enthusiastically seeking out great discounts. The holiday season was particularly special to her as she enjoyed baking cookies.

Surviving Marie includes her loving husband of 29 years, Paul Salisbury, whom she married on June 22, 1996. Loving children Jenna (Maria Suri) and Jacob Salisbury; siblings Catherine (Kerry) Sedota and Joseph (Raelyn) Pietrkiewicz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her Yorkie, Bella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be held in private. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY.
