Marie L. Cerrie

Marie Louise (Gates) Cerrie, 42, of Dunkirk NY passed away unexpectedly December 9 th, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Marie was born August 21, 1983, in Gowanda, NY. Daughter of Linda (Gonzalez) Musante. Marie was a member of the Seneca Nation - Turtle Clan.

Marie graduated from Dunkirk High School in 2002. She was employed by Walmart for 20 years, working as cashier up through team lead. Marie belonged to the Kosciuszko Club and the Columbus Club.

 Some of Marie’s favorite activities were to watch movies(Elf, Bridesmaids and Polar Express), baking, completing diamond paintings and spending time with her 3 daughters. Her favorite sports teams were the Raiders, Vikings, sometimes the Buffalo Bills, and the D’Youville Women's Bowling Team. She was a lover of music.

Marie was a fun loving individual, with a strong personality. She had a smile and laugh that would light up the whole room. Some favorite memories were the Starbucks trips, family trips and watching sunsets on the beach. 

Marie is survived by her 3 daughters; Josephina(Taylor), Hayden, and Victoria Cerrie of Dunkirk, significant other Ed Leminger and estranged husband Jim Cerrie. In addition, Mother Linda Musante, Abuela Cathy Rivera, Siblings Melvin (Taylor)Gates, Melissa (Eddie)Serrano, Angelique (Miguel)Cardona, 10 additional siblings, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

 She is preceded in death by her Maternal Grandmother Marjorie A. Gonzalez, and Step-Father Michael G. Yerico.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. with Prayer Services beginning at 11 a.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Interment will be held in private.
