Lois Elaine (Porter) Scott went to be with her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2024. She passed away at Buffalo General Hospital with family at her bedside. Lois was born Jan. 5, 1938 to Ernest and Lucille (Bitely) Porter.
She grew up in Jamestown, NY and had 2 siblings: Milford and Barbara (who died at age 5).Lois met the love of her life, Henry Allison Scott III through her brother. Henry & Lois were married on June 9, 1956 at Ivory Baptist Church. They enjoyed many years together until his passing on June 1, 2021, a week shy of their 65th wedding anniversary.
Lois was a wonderful mother and housewife and even worked for 5 years as a child care aide at the YWCA. Lois loved the Buffalo Bills, demolition derbies, car racing, fishing and watching Gunsmoke. .Sunsets were special to her.
Lois belonged to the Ivory Baptist Church and then joined Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church 6 years ago. After Henry passed, Lois became involved in fire auxiliaries and enjoyed friendships and fun with the ladies. She was an active member of the East Dunkirk Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was currently the director of Chautauqua County for the Southwestern Association of Vol. Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Western NY Auxiliary (WNYVFSA) and the state fire auxiliary (LAFASNY).
Lois is survived by her two sons: "Hank" Henry Allison Scott III (Judy Olejniczak) and Robert (Renee) Scott and 6 grandchildren: Tanya Baker, Jeff (Kim Peterson) Barden, Travis Scott, Tyler Scott, Sheldon Scott and Amethyst Paige Scott.. She had 5 great grandchildren: Allison Seastrom, Patience Glatt, Anthony Anzalone II, Aaliyah Anzalone and Luke Scott. She is also survived by her brother Milford (Wanita) Porter, step sister Sandy Houck, sister-in-law Ethel Scott and many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends are welcome at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 10am-12pm. Prayer services will begin at noon with a presentation by the EDFD Auxiliary. The service is being officiated by Pastor Margaret Kirby. Interment in Ivory Cemetery, town of Carrol, NY.
