Kathleen (Kay) G. (Gregory) Ryczko, 84, of Dunkirk, formerly of Fredonia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, September 6, 2025 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. Born in Dunkirk on June 22, 1941, she was the wife of Robert Ryczko and daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Johnson) Gregory.
A lifelong resident of Dunkirk and Fredonia, Kay graduated from Fredonia High School in 1959. For over two decades, Kay dedicated her professional life as a Customer Service Representative for Dunkirk Fredonia Telephone.Kay was known for her remarkable memory and her passionate love for cooking and baking. She delighted in the tradition of making Christmas cookies every year, a celebration eagerly anticipated by her family and friends.
Kay’s personality radiated kindness; she was deeply lovable and wholeheartedly devoted to taking care of her family. Her greatest joys were found in the moments spent with loved ones. She loved animals and enjoyed playing puzzles and games daily.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Ryczko, whom she married on May 19, 1962; loving children Douglas (Janet) Ryczko of Walkersville, MD, and Robert Ryczko II of Reno, NV; grandchildren Sean, Morgan and Leah Ryczko. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Suzanne Michalski.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be held in private. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY.
