Joan L. Cain

She was born August 19, 1949 in Dunkirk, NY the daughter of the late Emil and Shamia Tederous.

On April 10, 1976 she married William Cain, who survives.

Mrs. Cain was a 1st Grade Teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Gowanda,NY and she also taught with NYS Corrections at the Lakeview Shock Program and at Collins Correctional Facility.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY and the Slovenian Club in Gowanda. She loved going out to eat and traveling,especially on Disney Cruises and going to the Caribbean Islands.

Besides her loving husband she is survived by a son Peter Cain of Gowanda, NY and a daughter Molly(Robert) Dalimonte of Gowanda, NY and a grandson Robert Emil Dalimonte. Also surviving is a brother Eli (Deborah) Tederous of Dunkirk,NY and 2 sisters Theresa Kowalski of Baldwinsville, NY and Helen (Dr. Walter) Markowitch of Pittsford,NY and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her beloved cat “Shoresy”.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at 10 am from St. Joseph’s RC Church in Gowanda, NY.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Gowanda, NY
