Jean Marie Dill

With profound sorrow and deep gratitude, we announce the passing of Jean Dill of Dunkirk, a devoted mother, cherished family member, and beloved friend, who passed away on April 20, 2026 at the age of 69.

Born in Irwin, PA, Jean lived a life defined by love, generosity and quiet strength. Above all else, she was a loving mother whose devotion, patience and guidance shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren. Jean was also a dedicated public servant, spending 30 years as Chief Court Clerk at the Dunkirk City Court.

Jean had a remarkable ability to care for others, often putting the needs of her family and friends before her own. She found joy in life’s simple moments and her kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Richard Dill of Dunkirk and three children; Amber (Brett) Lancaster, Scott (Jillian) Dill both of Dunkirk and Kenneth (Katie) Dill of West Seneca; One brother James (Andi) Runt and several nieces and nephews. Jean had five beautiful grandchildren, Meghan, Kayleigh and Kelsey Lancaster and Jack and Olivia Dill who were the light of her life and put a smile on her face every day. She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Mary Jean Runt.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 3-6 pm at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and legacy of love she left behind. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church; 1032 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY. Interment will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery Columbarium. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jean’s honor.

Though she is no longer with us, Jean’s love, kindness, and enduring spirit will live on through the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
