Donna L. Brisky

Donna L. (Gregory) Brisky passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a survivor of breast cancer in 2010 and small intestine cancer in 2021.

Donna retired from Reynolds in Westfield in 2014 after working for 16 years. She was the purchasing and payroll clerk. She was a member of the Dunkirk Housing Authority for 10 years since 2015. She has worked for the Board of Elections since 2012. She was on the Workers Memorial as a committee member for 2 years.

She was very involved with many other activities as well. She has been an usher for Fredonia State since 2009. She was a lifelong member of Girl Scouts. She served as a leader, service unit manager and on the advisory board. She has been with the S.O.A.R. steel workers for 20 years. She was an active member of Blessed Mary Angela. She enjoyed being a Eucharistic minister since 2000. She helped with the church’s spaghetti dinners, Polish nights and chicken BBQ. She liked the Dunkirk Senior Citizen Center where she was a member since 2014. She volunteered at Bingo and in the kitchen. Donna also really enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends.

Donna will join her husband Don in heaven whom she was married to for 48 years. She is survived by her daughter Denise (Ryan) Freeman of Williamsville and her son Dennis Brisky of Cincinnati Ohio. She has two grandchildren, Alaina and Jake Freeman. She is also survived by two brothers, Marin (Irene) Gregory of Buffalo and Robert (Beth) Gregory of Pittsburgh, and one sister Gail Pearson of Ottertail, Minnesota.

Donna will be missed by her many friends and family. 

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Mary Angela Roman Catholic Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be held in private.
