Donald A. Vara, Sr.

Donald A. Vara Sr. of Deland Florida, formally of Fredonia, NY passed away on July 26, 2025 at 91 years of age. He is the son of the late Arthur and Hazel Vara (Junug).

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years Rose Marie, and his oldest son Donald Jr.

Don is survived by his loving sons Kevin and Rodney (Karen). He leaves behind grandchildren Donnie (Alexandra), Desiree (Chris), Justin, Erik, Adrianna, Berkleigh (Steven), Alex, and Mallory, as well as multiple great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was a dedicated truck driver for over 55 years.

Don was a wonderful source of love and support for his family and his friends and was adored by all. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest until the very end. He was one of a kind.

He will be sorely missed and remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart and dedicated to his family.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Monday, August, 4, 2025 from 10-12 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Prayer services will begin at Noon. Interment will be held in the Pieta Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery to be with the love of his life, Rose Marie Vara.
