Diana Joyce (Brinkman) Turk, 84, of Forestville, NY passed away on October 17, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1942 to Walter and Helen (Brocksopp) Brinkman. She was a member of the Dunkirk High School Class of 1960.
Diana had a way of staying busy and involved. She worked at different cashier jobs. She ran a craft business called “Knots and Pots” for macrame hangers and pots in the 1970s. In the 1990s she opened an alternative to gym exercise business which used toning tables to assist in work outs and strengthening. She named this business “Easy Does It”.
Diana enjoyed every kind and type of hobby. Crafting was a daily activity for her. She loved to paint! She always had her brush and paints ready to go on canvas, wood, rocks, ceramics, fabric, house walls, furniture and staining as part of remodel projects. She had a habit of using nighttime hours when she sewed. She created blankets and quilts, bags, totes and purses, clothing and altering and mending. Diana would often pick up her knitting and crocheting to create afghans, blankets, hats, scarves and mittens, doilies, dish cloths and scrubbies.
Diana loved to bake. She would be ready to put out desserts for holidays and to donate to Fundraisers. She made cookies, brownies, pies, bread and rolls that made us keep reaching in for more. Diana saved some quiet time for making puzzles. She loved the challenge and the way the images would emerge. Most of her completed puzzles were prepared to be hung. Diana enjoyed watching Hot Air Balloons in flight. She shared this interest with numerous relatives. There was magic in the colors and the sound of the propane burners. It was exciting to see the fabric on the ground fill and rise, pulling up its basketful of passengers to drift away.
Diana leaves behind her much loved and well spoiled dog, Fritz. She leaves her children Robert Turk, Howard Turk, Barbara Calderon, Judy Sprague, Mike Turk and Liza Gloff. Diana is survived by her sister, Carol Robinson, many cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Diana was predeceased by her parents, Walt and Helen. She was also predeceased by her husband, Lee H Turk Sr and son, Lee H Turk Jr.
Funeral services were held in private at the convenience of the family. Interment was held privately in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. Arrangments are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Share condolences at, www.mcgrawkowalfuneralhome.com
