Delphine "Del" Woloszyn, 90, of Dunkirk, passed away February 8, 2026, at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Buffalo, NY on May 10, 1935. Wife of the late Joseph Woloszyn Sr., and the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Zboch) Gancarz.
A graduate of Sloan High School, she worked as a Secretary at St. Hedwig's Church, a School Crossing Guard and was on the City of Dunkirk Board of Assessment Review Board and at Woloszyn Printery that her husband ran for 38 years.
Memberships include the BMA Church of St. Hedwig and was a former Board Member at the Dunkirk Senior Center. Although from Buffalo she played softball for the Koch’s Annies women’s softball team in Dunkirk where she met her husband.
Survivors include her sons Thomas (Jane) Woloszyn of Taylors, SC and Joseph (Kim) of Fredonia. Grandchildren Stephen (Emily), Ryan (Samantha), Lauren and David, 5 great grandchildren, Alex, Riley, Eloise, Oliver and Mia and several nieces and nephews.
Delphine is preceded by her loving husband Joseph of 39 years, her parents Walter and Mary, brothers Leonard and Richard Gancarz.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home; 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church; 1032 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY. Interment will be held in St. Hedwig's cemetery. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Dunkirk Senior Center or Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care. The family thanks the Nurses and Aides at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Unit 2B) for the loving care she received during her time there.
