Listen to Obituary

Carol Ann Gloff, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. A lifetime resident of Dunkirk, Carol was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose world revolved around the people she loved.

Carol graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1959. Following graduation, she began her working career as a secretary at True Temper. She later chose to step away from the workforce to dedicate herself fully to her true passion: raising her family. Once her youngest daughter began grade school, Carol returned to work as a clerk at JCPenney, where she brought her quiet dedication and warmth until her retirement. Carol was also a woman of deep faith; she was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church and, upon its closing, became a member of Holy Trinity Church.

She lived a simple life, choosing to keep her circle small and focusing her heart entirely on her family. She was always good for an unexpected zinger and her classic eye roll will be missed by all that knew and love her.

Carol was blessed to celebrate her final Mother's Day with all of her children present, along with her grandchildren Chris and Shalynn, and her great-grandchildren Paisley and Ryker.

Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Gloff. She is also survived by her three children, Cheryl "Cheri" Gloff (Mark) of Dunkirk, Robert "Rob" Gloff (Peg) of Dunkirk, and Christine "Chrisi" Kelley of Phoenix, Arizona; her six grandchildren, Christopher Kachermeyer (Becca) of West Seneca, Shalynn Blum (Josh) of Sherman, Marjorie "Markie" Gloff of Gowanda, Robert "Nick" Gloff (Kat) of Hobe Sound, Florida, Mei Gloff of Buffalo and Spencer Kelley of Phoenix, Arizona; and her four great-grandchildren, Colton Kachermeyer, Peyton O'Neil, Paisley and Ryker Blum, with another precious great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Meyers; her brother, Robert "Bob" Meyers (and his wife, Jean); and her sister, Lorraine Carver.

Since Carol wasn't fond of being the center of attention or being in large crowds, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. To honor her wishes, a small, intimate family gathering will take place to celebrate her life.

Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY.
