Anna (Tura) Vecchio, 79, of Fredonia, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk. Born in Solofra, Italy on December 1, 1946, she was the wife of the late Costantino Vecchio Sr. and daughter of the late Eugene and Maria (Negron) Tura.
Anna immigrated to the United States in 1968, where she embarked on an incredible journey that would define her life. She initially worked in the grape crops, demonstrating her strong work ethic and determination. In 1981, she proudly became a U.S. citizen.
Over the years, Anna devoted herself to her career, working at Privetera’s greenhouse while also serving as a Home Healthcare Aid for Chautauqua Opportunities for 15 years.
Anna cherished her family above all else. A devoted grandmother, she always wanted to know what her grandchildren were up to, fostering a close-knit family bond full of warmth and affection. Her love extended to her beloved dog, George, who brought her much comfort and companionship.
With a passion for baking and canning, she explored her culinary talents, sharing her creations with friends and family. Anna also had exceptional gardening skills.
Survivors include her loving sons Vincent (Melissa) Vecchio, Eugene (Lisa) Vecchio, and Costantino (Sheila) Vecchio Jr.; Grandchildren Nicholas, Cassandra, Anna, Jenna, Maya, Kara, Dustin, and Madison.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna is preceded in death by her brothers Miguel and Antonio Tura.
Funeral services will be held in private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, NY.
